1st October 2024- Update To Prescription Ordering.
New Patient Registrations
UPDATE REGARDING DIABETES TESTING FOR PATIENTS USING MID ESSEX BLOOD TESTING SERVICES:
Mid Essex Hospital Trust is currently in the process of installing new equipment at the Broomfield Hospital Laboratory, which should be up and running in early March 2025. This means that from this week, they have temporarily suspended routine diabetes blood tests (known as HBA1C). These bloods tests will not be bookable till some point in March 2025, resuming normally in April 2025.
It is important that you seek medical help from a health care professional if you experience any unusual symptoms, like dizziness, tiredness/fatigue, excessive thirst, weight loss, needing to pass urine more frequently.
Mid Essex Hospital Trust has apologised for any inconvenience caused and as soon as the new equipment is up and running, we will be able to re-start this type of blood test. Our GP Surgery is currently accepting new patients in the CM8 area, so please register either in-clinic or online. We do accept registrations on behalf of other members of your family. Please try to bring ID with you (Does not need to be photo ID. This can be utility bills, bank statements, etc.), NHS number (which you can now get from the NHS website) And if you are on any regular medication a months supply for your transition. Children under 16 only have to provide their NHS number and their parent(s)/guardian(s) has to also be a patient at the surgery.
